Discuss and take appropriate action regarding the employment of legal counsel to represent the Commissioners Court, in their official and individual capacities, and Williamson County in the suit Civil Action No. 1:13- cv- 505, Robert Lloyd v. Lisa Birkman, et al, In The United States District Court For the Western District of Texas, Austin Division, and in representation of the County in any related EEOC claims; and consider approval of the exemption of those attorney services from the competitive proposal/bid procedures of the County Purchasing Act pursuant to the discretionary exemption for personal or professional services, as set forth under Section 262.024(a)(4) of the Texas Local Government Code.
  This item was moved to Executive Session where no action was taken. After Executive Session the Court took action on this item.

Motion: To approve the employment of Bracewell & Giuliani LLP as legal counsel to represent the Commissioners' Court, in their official and individual capacities, and Williamson County in the suit Civil Action No. 1:13-cv-505, Robert Lloyd v. Lisa Birkman, et al., In The United States District Court For the Western District of Texas, Austin Division, and in representation of the County in any related EEOC claims; approve the exemption of these services from the competitive proposal/bid requirements of the County Purchasing Act pursuant to the discretionary exemption for personal or professional services, as set forth under Section 262.024(a)(4) of the Texas Local Government Code; and authorize the County Judge to execute a Letter of Engagement.

6. Comments from Commissioners.
  Commissioner Long requested that the Bond Advisory Committee present their report to the Commissioners' Court on Tuesday, July 23, 2013.

Commissioner Birkman invited everyone to the Pedestrian Bridge Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to be held on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. on the Dallas Drive side of the bridge connecting it to the Rattan Creek Trail.
