Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $18,766.35 for Lakeline Blvd Phase 2, a Road Bond Project in the Commissioner Pct. 2.
Background
This Change Order adds Contract Items to adjust the amount of compensation paid to the Contractor based on the quality of hot mix asphalt pavement produced and placed. Specific job control tests were run on the asphalt to monitor the quality of the asphalt mix. Using these results, in conjunction with formulas as outlined in the TxDOT specifications, the Contractor was either awarded a bonus or assessed a penalty. This Change Order also adds additional quantities and a new Contract Item to compensate the Contractor for installing additional small signs and object markers along the roadway. Twenty (20) days are being added for delays associated with the discovery and mitigation of a karst feature.
