Discuss and consider approving the extension of various annual contracts for FY2014 – complete list filed with official minutes.

Background

Majority of the bids and proposals being recommended for renewal allow for a CPI increase at renewal time. The CPI tied to these renewals is the one for March 2013 which was published at 1.5%, one bid is tied to the PPI which was published at 1.7% and one proposal is tied to the Employment Cost Index which was published as 1.9%. Information researched indicates that the indexes are rising and re-bidding at this time would likely result in increased costs considering also the average cost of a bid is approx. $3500 which would also have to be added. The Departments are recommending renewals as they are satisfied with current vendors’ performance and pricing.
