Discuss and consider approval of a Resolution conveying the County’s interest in a property located in the City of Jarrell to the City of Jarrell.

Background

This property was offered for sale at a public auction for delinquent taxes due to Williamson County, the City of Jarrell, Jarrell ISD and Williamson County ESD #5. Insufficient bids were received for this property. Jarrell ISD and Williamson County ESD # 5 have also passed resolutions approving the transfer of this property to the City of Jarrell for development of a Habitat for Humanity project. Upon receipt of all of the Resolutions, a deed will be prepared conveying each taxing entity’s interest in the property to the City of Jarrell. As part of the consideration of the county’s agreement to convey its interest to the City of Jarrell, the City of Jarrell assumed the responsibility to use any means necessary to ensure that the property is cleared of any existing trash, debris and poor condition so that such property could once again be a property that produces tax revenue for the said taxing entities.
