Background
The City of Hutto has requested funding for 2, Big Belly and Smart Belly double station, 5 year, single stream, black hoppers. The quote provided to the City of Hutto by Waste Management is attached. These funds will be paid from the Waste Management Solid Waste Fees Account.
Quantity is 2
Price Per Station is $6,457.00
The extended price: $12,914.00
One time shipping and handling charges are: 800.00
Total System Cost: $ 13,714.00
This price is valid for 60 days from Sept. 7, 2012
The purchase of the big belly solar compactors would compliment the recent improvements that the City made to Farley Street in Hutto’s downtown. The rehabilitation project added sidewalks, underground storm water drainage, landscaping, and benches to the downtown area. Downtown Hutto, especially the intersection of Farley and East Street, has become a well traveled area as people frequent businesses and restaurants located in the Old Town area. The intersection is also host to many special events such as “Second Saturday” and the traditional Old Tyme Festival. The current trash cans are often overflowing after an event and on weekends due to the number of people visiting downtown. The solar compactors have more capacity than traditional trash receptacles, thus reducing staff time needed to empty the trash cans. The solar compactors also come with recycling receptacles, further promoting the City’s recycling efforts.
