Information
Agenda Item
To discuss and take appropriate action on the revision of Section 3.10 and 3.11 of the Subdivision Regulations.
Background
The cities have been notified that on October 1 we will no longer accept photographic Mylar for permanent recording of plats. This is due to the lack of space for more plat cabinets. We would like to require plat images in digital format only. We can then print out the signature page, get the County Judge and County Clerk’s signatures, rescan that plat page and merge them all into our database. The revised sections of the Subdivision Regulations would read as follows:
Section 3.10 At least one week before the date of the Commissioner’s Court meeting, the owner shall submit to the County Clerk a digital file in Group IV TIFF format at 400 dpi on a CD or DVD. The plat must be typed in eight point or larger so that all writing and printing is easily readable. The County Judge’s approval and the County Clerk’s approval shall be located on the last page of the plat on the lower right hand corner with the County Clerk’s approval being last.
Section 3.11 Following final approval of the subdivision, the County Clerk will record the plat in the Official Public Records of Williamson County, Texas. The signed plat will be re-scanned and the images merged into the database. The signed version of the plat will be saved to CD or DVD and returned to the owner.
Proposed motion: To approve changes to Section 3.10 and 3.11 of the Subdivision Regulation as attached relating to the plat requirements for the County Clerk’s office.
