Discuss and consider closing 1 lane in each direction on Teravista Drive for the Teravista Ranch House Run. The 5K/10K and 'kids' run event will be held on October 30, 2010 from 7:30 am to 9:30am. This event will be held in conjunction with the Teravista Fall Festival. Consider loaning cones for the lane closures.
Background

Newland Communities and the Tri Texas 2 Step will be hosting the Teravista Ranch House Run on
October 30, 2010 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. This event was posted on Williamson County's road closure site to notify all relevant departments/approved.

The event sponsors are requesting to close one lane in each direction on Teravista Club Drive which is the main road in Teravista. This road has four lanes with two lanes flowing in each direction. Cones are needed on each side of the roadway for the runners. Traffic will still flow the normal direction, but cones are needed to separate the cars from the runners. Two lanes need to be coned, one in each direction to be used for runners as they go out and back on Teravista Drive. Vehicle traffic will still be flowing in its normal direction.

There are a few side streets that will go off into sections of the neighborhood and trails. There will be cones/volunteers for the runners/traffic in place. The start location is the model home area on Grand Vista Circle to Teravista Club Drive, middle section/5k run turn around point near the Teravista Elementary. The 10K continues on Teravista Drive and meets the side streets; Western Lake Drive, Scenic Lake Drive and Wandering Vine Trail through a section of undeveloped homes back up through Teravista Club Drive 10k/5k final loop/ finish area. Runners turn on Hillridge Drive to meet the neighborhood trails and meet back on Mesquite Hollow Park Place and back up Teravista Parkway finishing back into the model home area on Grand Vista Circle.

The contact person for this event is Milissa Day - Tri TX 2 Step/Director, www.tritx2step.com,  or 512-296-9299. The event sponsors are expecting 200 people. There is not a rainout date set for this event.
