Discuss and consider approving the remodel and renovation plans for the old Round Rock Annex, located at 211 Commerce Cove, Buildings A & B, in Round Rock, Texas.

Background

Since the opening of the new J.B. & Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex at 1801 E. Old Settlers Blvd., in Round Rock, the precinct one offices of the commissioner, justice of the peace, constable and the Round Rock branch of the tax assessor/collector have moved to the new location leaving some additional space at 211 Commerce Cove. The Williamson County and Cities Health District and Adult Probation are still being housed at 211 Commerce Cove and the Juvenile Probation Department would like to move back into that location. Currently the building is in dire need of upgrading, including but not limited to, re-painting, replacing the carpet and floors and upgrading the air conditioning system as well as some minor renovations to include the addition of walls amongst other things.

Attached are two detailed cost estimates, one estimate includes replacing the A/C System. Bob Daigh would recommend this be done is two phases with the A/C ($98,000) and the Automatic Logic ($40,000) being done in Phase 2 with a total cost estimate of $254,950.

The second is a cost estimate with repairs to the AC system to include cleaning and sealing of duct work as opposed to replacing it with a total cost estimate of $126,450.

Also attached is a depiction of the current office space and is highlighted and color coded to indicate proposed office space use.

Today we are asking the court to approve the allocation of office space and the expenditure of funds for the renovations and upgrades and to appoint Gary Wilson as the project manager.
