Commissioner Birkman invited the Court to preview the new building (Jester Williamson County Annex and Public Safety Building in Round Rock) on Thursday October 1st from 11:00 A.M to 1:00 P.M.  It will be a "come and go" to take tours of the building.

Commissioner Covey commented that yesterday was the Annual Program for the Nathan Chapman Memorial at the Justice Center.  Thankfully there were no additional plaques added.  The foundation had a fundraiser last night that was well attended, she encouraged everyone to participate next year. All of the funds raised by the foundation go toward scholarships for the children of the fallen soldiers.

Commissioner Long reported on the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) meeting last night.  There was a recent ruling by the Third Court of Appeals that may have some impact on the Joint Powers Agreement.  She said they are waiting for clarification on this before they take action. She stated that part of the discussion about amending these bylaws was a recommendation made by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) by one of its reviews of nonprofit organizations (NPO). The FHWA has not put anything in writing and CAMPO will not make amendments until it does.
