Discuss and take appropriate action regarding Resolution Authorizing County Grant to Williamson Burnet County Opportunities, an organization that provides home delivered meals to homebound persons in the county who are elderly and/or have a disability.

Background

In order for WBCO to get funding from the TX Dept. of Agriculture for home delivered meals, they must have the support from each county in which they deliver them.

The support WBCO receives from the county needs to be equivalent to at least .25 for each of people in Williamson County over 60 per the 2000 census. (There were 25,119.)

The support the County has given annually in the past was sufficient to get the maximum funding from this program. Last year County support enabled WBCO to get over $38,000 for Williamson County meals.

A Copy of last year's resolution is attached along with a proposed Resolution for this year.
