Consider and take appropriate action to approve Amendment Number 1 to Intergovernmental Cooperative Reimbursement Agreement Between The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Williamson County.

Background

The county has previously entered contract 582-8-89965 with TCEQ for a Local Initiative Project (LIP) grant. This contract is a grant agreement between TCEQ and Williamson County relating to expenditure of Low Income Vehicle Repair Assistance, Retrofit, and Accelerated Vehicle Retirement Program (LIRAP) funds for Local Initiative Projects under the Texas Health and Safety Code §382.220. The grant is a 50% match.

The original contract provided for an estimated funding amount of $135,500.00 for FY09 (as shown in Article V, AMOUNT OF FUNDING, page 5 of 18 of the Agreement). This amendment provides for the specific amount of $167,301.96 for FY09.

All other conditions and requirements of Contract Number 582-8-89965 remain unchanged.

Present plans are to use these funds in conjunction with Juvenile Services and Fleet Services to replace older, less efficient vehicles with cleaner hybrids to improve emissions of county fleet vehicles. Other eligible projects must also meet the criteria of the Agreement as outlined in Article III.
