To discuss and consider approving an ILA with Travis County regarding the NorthRidge Water Supply Corporation project

Background

The Northridge Acres subdivision is located in Travis and Williamson Counties. In 1999, the Northridge Water Supply Corporation water well, which had been the sole water source for the subdivision, became inoperable. The City of Round Rock agreed to install a temporary connection to its water system through a City of Round Rock fire hydrant. The Corporation currently obtains its potable water supply from this source. The Texas Water Development Board, the City of Austin, Northridge Water Supply Corporation, Travis County, Williamson County and the Williamson County and Cities Health District entered into a six party agreement in March 2005. This agreement obligated Williamson County to contribute $150K to the project. The $150K is to come out of the CDBG funds. However, due to unforeseen circumstances and CDBG regulations that would further delay the progression of the project, it is requested that the County contribute an additional $40K to connect the households and businesses in Williamson County portion of the area to the new water system. The agreement is a “not to exceed $40,000”. There are approximately 67 homes and four businesses identified at this time that are scheduled to be connected. However, this is based on surveys that were conducted in 2003. It is expected that additional homes and business will need to be connected, thus the reason for the additional funds up to $40, 000. Total cost of the project is approximately $1,106,677.50.
