Discuss and take appropriate action regarding the appointment of Ed Komamdosky as the Williamson County board member to the Taylor Tax Increment Financing District.

Background

The City of Taylor created the Taylor Increment Financing (TIF) District in mid-2005. The City and Williamson County entered into an interlocal agreement in October 2005 to help fund the Taylor TIF District. This district is essentially in downtown Taylor. This district consists of about 128 acres and was valued at about $30M in 2007.

The TIF Advisory Board in Taylor consists essentially of the Taylor Main Street Advisory Board and representative from the Taylor ISD, although the ISD can not by law participate in funding the TIF, as well as the County. Taylor ISD appointed their CFO to the Board.

The Advisory Board reviews applications for funding and makes recommendations to the City Council for final decisions on the requests. The County representative, as well as the Taylor ISD's representative, will play an integral part in making recommendations to the City Council for funding.
