Consider and take appropriate action on closing Hoxie Street between Broad and Commerce Streets in Coupland, Texas, on Saturday, October 4, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the annual Coupland Fest.

Background

Barb Franklin, Chairperson of the 2008 Coupland Fest, advised this year's theme is Choo. . .Choo. . . Fest because it is a fundraiser to raise money to refurbish the Depot and caboose in downtown Coupland. Local retailers are participating in the event and have no objection to the road closure. The Coupland Fest Committee has contacted county law enforcement in advance for traffic assistance and also advises no alcoholic beverages will be sold. Commissioner Pct. #4 staff has also contacted URS Dept. for barricades. If needed, you may contact Barb Franklin at (512) 856-0039, for additional event information.
