Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on Change Order 1 in the amount of -$77,531.02 for Lakeline at US 183, a Road Bond Project in Commissioner Pct. 2.

Background

This Change Order realizes the cost savings with various items of work, including (1) the elimination of 2" and 3" conduit (bored and trenched) by reusing some existing conduit for the new signal layout and (2) reusing the original signal pole assembly in lieu of installing a new signal pole assembly. Both TxDOT and the City of Austin approved these changes. In addition, this Change Order provides for the balancing of the overrun/underrun of Contract quantities for the project as a result of addressing field condition not accounted for in the original plan quantities. This Change Order also adds new items to compensate the Contractor for (1) the use of peace officers for traffic control, (2) the purchase of the new signal pole assembly which was delivered to the County, and (3) a lane closure on the US 183 southbound frontage road that was necessary for the construction of the new right turn lane.
