Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a funding request from the City of Hutto for disbursement of Waste Management Landfill funds for a City of Hutto town center project.
Background
The City of Hutto purchased the old co-op building on Farley Street and intends to develop this site. This site is envisioned as the town center and is intended to complement and enhance the City’s existing Old Town District.
The City of Hutto requests Williamson County Commissioners Court to authorize the disbursement of $360,000 from the Waste Management Landfill fund for this project. Matching funds will come from the City of Hutto’s fund balance savings and the Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund. The City of Hutto plans to begin construction of the facility this fall (2014) and would request a single reimbursement from Williamson County following the completion of construction of the gin building.
