Agenda Item
Discuss and consider approving an increase to the hourly flat fee rate for election workers.
Background
Since 2004, wages for election workers have remained as follows in Williamson County:
$10 – Election Judges and Early Voting Supervisors
$ 8 – Clerks and Alternate Judges
With the increasing demands that have been placed upon election workers and because we have conducted an election worker pay survey in similarly sized counties, Williamson County
Elections Office is proposing to raise election worker pay rates to the following:
$14 – Election Day Judges and Early Voting Supervisors
$12 – Early Voting Alternate Supervisors and Clerks and Election Day Alternate Judges and Clerks
We need to attract and retain election workers. In addition, we need to send a message to the election workers that with their increasing responsibilities, they will see an increase in compensation.
