Consider approving Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $3,597.55 for CR 260/266, a Road Bond Project in Precinct Two.
Background
This Change Order is a preliminary adjustment of quantities to meet field conditions. A new Contract item is added for removal of the existing Griffin driveway and box culvert on US 183 that conflicted with the new driveway location.  This Change Order also adds an additional 10 LF section of 24” encasement pipe to clear a conflict with the existing 20” waterline on the north side of SH 29.  The original bore pit location was moved to the south side of SH 29 and the length of the bore was extended.

Finally, this Change Order adds a new Contract item to assess liquidated damages for achieving Substantial Completion on April 9, 2013.  Substantial Completion was due on March 13, 2013; 150 days after time charges began on October 15, 2012.  Special Provision 000-2332 of the Contract specifies a liquidated damages amount of $610.00 per day for contracts more than $500,000 but less than $1,000,000.  The liquidated damages to be assessed on this project are $16,470.00.
