Discuss and consider authorizing overtime up to a total of $1,500 -- and approving the related line item transfer -- to pay non-exempt Technology Services employees relating to the move-in for the Emergency Services Operations Center.

Background

Currently, if a non-exempt employee in the Technology Services department works overtime they receive comp time rather than being paid for the time worked. Because the Emergency Services Operations Center will require several employees to work over a weekend for this specific purpose, and because we can't afford to have staff out of the office any more than they are already allowed for vacation and sick leave, we would like to be able to pay them for these specific hours worked while moving equipment into the ESOC rather than give them comp time. We have five employees who would be eligible to work overtime for this project and we don't anticipate any one of them having to work more than 8-10 hours over the move-in weekend.
