Judge Gattis explained that the merit raise approved in the new budget is a merit raise, not an across-the-board raise for all county employees.

Judge Gattis noted that although the Commissioners' Court would not meet on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, county offices will be open.

Commissioner Birkman recognized Dr. Marsha Farney, District 10 representative on the State Board of Education and Republican nominee for State House District 20 in November.

Commissioner Birkman and Commissioner Covey noted that the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service's public hearing on endangered salamanders will be held at 5:30 p.m. on September 5, 2012 at the Wingate Hotel in Round Rock.
