Consider various lane closures delays in the Brushy Creek area for the St. Philips United Methodist Church's annual Resolution Run on January 1, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and consider loaning 100 cones.

Background

This is the St. Philips United Methodist Church's annual Resolution Run / 5K race/bike/run. Various roadways in and around the church will be used, but they are not asking to completely close any roadway. They will all remain open and a bike/run/walk lane will be coned off. The run will start and finish at the church which is located at 16321 Great Oak Dr. in Brushy Creek. The 5K race is on fairly level ground on the roads of the Brushy Creek neighborhood. The course is certified and chip timed. Chip timing is included in the registration price. The race takes place on New Years Day at 11:00 a.m. They anticipate that all of the runners will be done by 12:30 p.m. but are asking for permission cone the lanes off until 1:00 p.m. They plan to hire two off duty officers for traffic control and will notify homeowners about delays in the area at least two weeks in advance. They will need 100 cones delivered to the church the day before the race. The race starts at 11:00 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2013 at 16321 Great Oaks Drives and goes along Racine Trail to Neenah Ave, down Neenah to Rustic Lane then to Joachim Lane, and down West Dorman, back to Neenah, up Ephraim Road over to Monona Ave, to Cornerwood Drive and then down Racine, and back to the church. This road closure request has been routed through the county road closure process and a map of the route is attached. All Emergency personell as well as the county engineer have reviewed the closure and are okay with it.
