Consider awarding Williamson County Workers’ Compensation administrative services to Texas Association of Counties Risk Management Pool at total annual cost of $418,807.

Background

Previous cost for Workers’ Comp for the County with Texas Political Subdivisions has been $669,352 for FY2011 and $750,287 for FY2012. The TPS contract with the county expires 9/30/2012; they have proposed $624,556 for total annual cost for FY2013.

Williamson County approved an Interlocal Agreement with TAC on June 3, 2008. The proposed annual cost from TAC for FY2013 is $418,807. TAC provides a significant savings from previous years and over and above the quote from TFP for FY2013. Lisa Zirkle, Director of Human Resources and Eric Smith, Williamson County Insurance Consultant, have both recommended we award TAC the County's Workers Compensation administrative service.
