Discuss and consider taking appropriate action on extending annual contracts for FY 2012 for Jail Medical Services, Contract Towing for Sheriff's Office, Optical Scan Ballot Printing (Elections), Armored Courier (Treasurer Office), Electrical Services (Facilities Dept.).

Background

The bids being recommended for renewal allow for a CPI increase at renewal time. The CPI tied to these renewals is the one for March 2011 which was posted at 2.7%. Information received indicates that the CPI is rising and a re-bid at this time would likely result in increased costs. (The most current CPI for July was 3.5%). The Departments are requesting renewals as they are satisfied with current vendors performance and pricing.

Note: Electrical Services is tied to the PPI Electrical contractors, nonresid bldg work which was 0.2% for July. This contract was recommended for extension also.
