Discuss and take appropriate action to execute option on purchase of 500 acres of Golden Cheek Warber mitigation credits from the Hickory Pass Ranch conservation bank in Burnet County.
Background
On August 11 the Williamson County Conservation Foundation board voted to recommend to Commissioners Court that an option be executed to purchase 500 acres of Golden Cheek Warbler mitigation credits from the Hickory Pass Ranch conservation bank in Burnet County.

Currently the county holds approximately 1000 acres of credits for GCW mitigation through prior purchases of conservation bank credits or through other endangered species preserves, e.g. Twin Springs Preserve. Over the next several years the county will need to acquire approximately 7000 acres of GCW mitigation credits primarily for road projects. The option provides for a purchase price well below the current market which presently stands at $9000/acre for tracts less than 100 acres, $7000/acre for tracts over 750 acres and graduated pricing for tracts between these two parcel sizes.

The terms of the option require execution by September 30 and closing by December 31.
