Consider and take appropriate action regarding completion of Precinct 4 Building.

Background

In order to enact the reorganization of Road & Bridge(R&B), R&B needs the ability to bring all of the major maintenance employees into the Georgetown Central Maintenance Facility. This requires a large meeting space and locker rooms. The first concept to meet this need was to finish out the tire center/ sign shop with locker rooms. The price for this alternative now rests in the $650,000 range. Given the high price, we were asked for another viable alternative. The “Plan B” is to use the existing locker room and large meeting space in the Central Maintenance building and relocate AgriLIFE Extenstion to another location. Existing unfinished space exists in the Precinct 4 Office that would meet AgriLife Extension’s space requirements. There is money, approximately $200,000, remaining in the Precinct 4 building account that we believe will be sufficient to finish out the space for AgriLIFE Extension.
