Discuss and take appropriate action on Contract Amendment 3 to the Inter-Governmental Cooperative Reimbursement Agreement between Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and Williamson County (AKA Local Initiative Projects contract).

Background

Amendment 3 supercedes amendment 2 which was approved by Commissioners Court on 8/25/09. This new amendment confirms the Local Initiative Project grant program for the FY 2011. Under this amendment TCEQ will obligate $167,652.18 for FY 2011 to Williamson County. Combined with FY 2010 funds this means a total of $335,304.36 for the 2010-2011 biennium. Funds must be expended for eligible projects and must be expended within two years of the corresponding FYE (i.e., FY 2010 funds must be expended by August 31, 2012; FY 2011 funds must be expended by August 31, 2013). The AirCheck Program office will administer the grant with assistance from the Auditor's office.

The next step will be to develop an eligible project and project budget under the grant program. Such program will be subject to approval by commissioners court and acceptance by TCEQ.
