53. Comments from Commissioners.
  Judge Gattis commended the Fire Departments in Williamson, Travis and Bell County, our Fleet Group, Communications, Fish and Wildlife, Fort Hood, Sheriff's office, and Constables office who were involved in fighting the fire at Florence this last week.  

Commissioner Birkman
 said she discovered she is a distant relative to the Williams family who owns land involved in the purchase of land for the park land south of Hwy 29.  Because of this she is going to recuse herself in the discussions and votes on the park land.

Judge Gattis said that in regards to the Item 51 motion for Landfill contract negotiations he requested that in the spirit of fair negotiations, the Commissioners and staff should refrain from any open comments on the contract itself while the contract is in negotiations.
