Agenda Item
Consider approving request that Williamson County continue to employ a qualifying income level of 25% of the federal poverty income level (FPIL) for the County Indigent Health Care Program, instead of the state mandated minimum of 21% FPIL, and continue to provide certain optional, non-mandated services.
Background
Williamson County Commissioner’s Court has approved 25% FPL as the qualifying income guideline for County Indigent Health Care Program services, and approved a select list of optional services, annually since August, 2000. State guidelines require that the court approve and submit each August a new statement of our intention to provide continue using a qualifying income level higher than the state minimum, and a statement of our intention to provide the same optional services we currently provide, in order that expenditures may be counted as creditable toward our 8% GRTL liability.

Information on qualifying income guidelines and a report on expenditures for optional services are included for your review.
