Discuss and consider Interlocal Agreement with North Austin Municipal Utility District No. 1 regarding the Rattan Creek Hike and Bike Trail.

Background

In Dec. 2007 the county entered into an interlocal agreement with Capital Metro. (see attached) The agreement contains a program called the Build Central Texas – Suburban Communities Program which was developed to meet transportation mobility needs that benefit the individual communities in the Capital Metro service area. This project is a hike and bike trail approximately ½ mile long and is an extension of an existing trail. Upon completion it will be maintained by NA MUD #1. The trail is in Precinct One and is in the Capital Metro service area. The funds for this project, not to exceed $70,000 will come from the 2008 Build Central Texas monies provided by Capital Metro. The BCT funds for 2008 is $139,067.

This agreement has been reviewed and approved by Hal Hawes of the County Attorney's office.
