Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on an approval of a Change Drawer for the County Treasurer's Office, including but not limited to setting the amount for same.

Background

As of August 1, 2015, the County Bank Depository is Wells Fargo Bank. The process for withdrawing cash for Jury Replenishment funds will be through the Cash Vault in San Antonio, via Courier. Because of the time element involved in ordering and receiving cash (72 hours), it is prudent to have funds (Change Drawer) in the Treasurer's Vault as a back up for any possible emergency. Access to the funds would be limited to the Treasurer and the Chief Deputy Treasurer. Funds would be audited on a frequency determined by the Auditor's office. The amount requested to be held is $12,000.00, in a variety of denominations with some coin. The Treasurer's Change Drawer will also be used for Change Requests as needed (denomination changes, coin changes). The local Wells Fargo Bank can be used on an infrequent basis.
