Discuss and consider approving a request from Justice of the Peace Pct 3 to increase five (5) change drawers from $200 to $500 for a total of $1,500.
Background
Judge Gravell has requested an increase in the authorized change fund for the five (5) cash drawers, utilized daily, from $200.00 each to $500.00 each. This would eliminate the need to make change several times per week as presently handled. The increase would also allow for making change for larger bills when defendants are paying the assessed fine and/or court costs. Our caseload and fines collected has increased through the years; however, the cash drawers have been kept at a minimum.
