Consider and take appropriate action on accepting a $5,000 Take Me Fishing Grant from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).

Background

The Parks and Recreation Department has applied for and been offered a $5,000 grant from the National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA) for a Take Me Fishing grant. Williamson County will act as a clearinghouse providing fishing poles, a catch tank, educational tools and materials to cities in the county to help foster children, parents and fishing in a sustainable manner. The grant stipulations and the grant letter outlining our program are attached. This will help in our Learn To Fish event in the Southwest Regional Park on Saturday August 28.
