To achieve Obamas goal of using renewable energy, the County must now use Ethanol in unleaded fuel. Fuel containing Ethanol in tanks that have been in service for several years typically have problems. Ethanol works like a solvent and will break up scaling that may exist and will also migrate to any water present in the bottom of the tank. When this occurs, fuel will be dirty, clog up filters and will ultimately spread to all vehicles that fuel from that tank. In order to alleviate this problem, it would be best to run current storage tanks out of fuel and have them cleaned of residue. This transfer will cover the cleaning of the tanks. |
