Discuss and take appropriate action to approve and affirm appointment of Williamson County Conservation Foundation Board members, board member terms and election of officers.

Background

The Williamson County Conservation Foundation (WCCF) adopted new bylaws on April 8, 2009 and those bylaws were approved by the Commissioners Court on April 21, 2009. In a duly called meeting on July 10, 2009, and in accordance with the bylaws, the board reorganized by a drawing of lots such that four director positions received two year terms and three director positions received one year terms. The result of this sortition was as follows:
Two year terms - Lisa Birkman, Valerie Covey, Larry Quick and Tony Glace
One year terms - Patty Eason, Chuck Walker, Vacant Position
All subsequent appointments by the court will be for two year terms.

Following the division by class an election was held for officers for the following one-year term. Lisa Birkman was elected President, Valerie Covey was elected Vice-President and Gary Boyd was elected as Secretary for the Board (under the bylaws the position of Secretary may be filled by a member of the staff of WCCF or of the County).

These actions are filed in the minutes of the WCCF.
