Discuss and consider approving the PetPoint Database Conversion Agreement that will allow PetPoint to convert the animal shelter data from the current software, Shelter Buddy.

Background

Commissioner's Court approved the change in software for the animal shelter from Shelter Buddy to PetPoint in January 2009. The Database Conversion Agreement is to approve the cost of data conversion. The cost has been discussed and approved by the Shelter Board in the 2009-2010 budget and the conversion date is tentatively set for mid October. The agreements must be in place in order to set a conversion date and to give the required 30 day notice to Shelter Buddy. After the initial data conversion cost, the county and cities will be saving the technical support and hosting fees paid to Shelter Buddy annually and the microchips that we already use are available at a lesser charge.
