Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 5 in the amount of $156,084.39 for RM 620 Safety Improvements, a Road Bond Project in Commissioner Pct. 1.

Background

This Change Order provides for the balancing of the overrun/underrun of the final asphalt pavement quantities for the project as a result of addressing field conditions not accounted for in the original plan quantities and accounts for the actual specific weight of the material. This Change Order also adjusts the bonus/penalty payment for ride quality and the placement and production of asphalt pavement on the project, as well as deducts the unused flexible base repair quantities no longer needed due to TxDOT performing the pavement repairs. Finally, this Change Order deletes Contract quantities of asphalt and aggregates for Item 316 Seal Coat components and adds a new Contract Item for a trackless tack coat (approved by TxDOT) as an asphalt water barrier on the flex base.
