Discuss and take appropriate action on renewal of the Texas Commission on Enviromental Quality (TCEQ) grant contract for Local Initiative Projects (LIP); contract number 582-14-40118.

Background

The Local Initiave Project (LIP) grant is for air quality related improvements. The past two years Williamson County has used this funding for counterfeit inspection certificate enforcement, a project which is drawing to a close this August.

Maximum funds under the grant contract renewal is limited to $7,758.00 for each of the next four fiscal years. At this time an eligible project has not been determined. Eligible projects require a 50% match and must be transportation air quality related.

Court counsel has reviewed the contract.

Upon determination of an eligible project it will be brought back to Commissioners Court for approval.
