Consider approving Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $20,408.62 for CR 138, a Road Bond Project in Precinct Four.
Background
This Change Order adds new Contract items for reinstalling eight (8) driveway culverts and SETs at driveway locations that had existing driveway culverts but were not specified to be replaced on the original plans.  To accommodate the reconstruction of one driveway that is too steep, a new Contract item is being added to lower an existing 4” waterline under the driveway in order to maintain minimum coverage.  This Change Order will also increase the quantity of new mailbox installations to include the other existing mailboxes which are not in sufficient condition to be relocated but were not identified for replacement on the plans.  This Change Order also adds a new Contract item for soil retention blanket to be placed in areas along the edge of the roadway, in ditches, and on backslopes to minimize future erosion and aid in establishing vegetation.  Additional concrete rip rap will also be added to minimize erosion around the existing culvert near Secretariat.
