Consider appointing Russell Strahan to serve as a commissioner on the Emergency Service District Number Two Board, effectively immediately to fulfill the current unexpired term until Dec. 31, 2013.

Background

Commissioner Birkman has interviewed 4 candidates for this position and is recommending Mr. Strahan. Judge Gattis has also interviewed Mr. Strahan and is recommending his appointment as well.
The current vacant position has a two year term to end on Dec. 31, 2013, we are recommending Mr. Strahan be appointed immediately to serve out this term.
