Consider approving Change Order No. 15 in the amount of $219,654.10 for US 79 Section 3, a Pass Through Financing Project in Precinct Four.
Background
This Change Order compensates the Contractor for changes to contract items to correct and add excavation, embankment and riprap quantities on the project. After letting the project, it was discovered that the topsoil quantity was not included in the roadway excavation item. In addition, changes to the proposed roadside ditch between Station 761+94 and Station 765+00 (east end of the project) were required due to revised ROW not acquired. The original cross sections had shown the proposed ditch extending beyond the limits of the ROW and in order to construct the ditch within the ROW limits, steeper ditch slopes will be necessary. The ditch modifications will also change earthwork quantities and are also reflected in this change order. Additional monthly barricades have been added for this time extension and the 45 day time extension granted on Change
Order #4 for correcting the SETs.
