Consider and take appropriate action regarding an addition to the change fund for operation of the revenue collection machine at the Quarry Splash Pad in Southwest Williamson County Regional Park

Background

When we opened the Quarry Splash Pad in 2011, an initial change fund was requested and established to operate the revenue collection machine. We monitored the operation and learned that the change fund was depleted quickly, so we requested and received an addition to the change fund. With ever increasing public use in 2012, with changes in banking procedures, and considering the fiscal responsibility in the Parks Department to properly separate duties with reconciliation, reporting, and accounting, we seek an additional sixteen hundred dollars ($1600.00) for the Quarry Splash Pad change fund. We met with the Internal Audit Department to review park procedures and safeguards, and appreciate their positive response and assistance with this request.
