Discuss and take possible action on naming the community rooms in the J. B. & Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex at 1801 E. Old Settler's Blvd., Round Rock, TX., as the Commissioner Washington Anderson Room and the Commissioner Jacob M. Harrell Room in honor and memory of two of the founding Williamson County commissioners who were from the Round Rock area.

Background

We would like to consider naming the rooms at the J.B. & Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex, located at 1801 E. Old Settler's Blvd., Round Rock, TX. The community room is one large room that can be divided into two rooms and will be available for rent to the public starting on June 17th, 2010. The suites in the building have numbers and there are two conference rooms that have letters A & B. In order to cut down on confusion we would suggest that the two rooms be named in order to more clearly indentify the rooms. We would like to suggest that the two rooms be named after two of the founding commissioners in the Round Rock area. Commissioner Birkman as well as Lisa Worley from the Williamson Museum have done some research and found that Washington Anderson and Jacob M. Harrell were 2 founding county commissioners. I have attached a copy of their bios. Today we are asking that the court consider naming the slightly bigger room with the TV but no kitchen as the Anderson Room and the slightly smaller room with the kitchen as the Harrell Room.
