Discuss and take appropriate action on Technology Services' Web Support position reclassifications as recommended by Human Resources.

Background

HR has reviewed this request and recommends it.

The Web Master position for the County has been vacant for approximately two months. We have posted the position two separate times and have not received applicants who completely meet our requirements. For that reason, we have taken a look at the complementary position of Information Architect to see if we can redistribute the responsibilities of the Webmaster and Information Architect positions to fill all of the required needs. By doing this, the overall responsibilities of the Webmaster are slightly reduced and the responsibilities of the Information Architect are increased. Now both positions will have the same responsibilities and title (Webmaster), with one being the lead position in the group, with limited supervisory responsiblity as well as being the person who will be the face-to-face contact with departments on website design and development, and the other focusing more on development.

We are proposing reclassifying these two positions with a net savings to the County -- including fringe -- of about $9,000 annually. These are as follows:

Webmaster - from 32.1 ($60,589.88) to 27.1 ($47,290.36)
Information Architect changed to Webmaster - from 25.1 ($42,808.75) to 27.2 ($48,483.51)
