Discuss and consider approval of a form agreement that will serve as a three party agreement between, Williamson County, Round Rock Area Arts Council and an Artist regarding art work that will be displayed, from time to time, at the J.B. & Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex at 1801 E. Old Settler’s Blvd., Round Rock, Texas, 78664 and authorize the county judge to sign the individual agreements as appropriate.

Background

We would like to display art from local artists at the J.B. & Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex. The county has installed a cable system to hang the artwork in the public hallways. The Round Rock Arts Council (RRAAC) is a non-profit agency affiliated with the city of Round Rock. Currently, they have art on display at the Round Rock Higher Education Center and also at their new space in downtown Round Rock. This agreement is a standard one between the Artist, the RRAAC and the County. The agreement is to insure that the county will not be responsible for any damage that may occur to the art work while it is on display at the annex.

It is also the intent for the RRAAC to receive a percentage of the sales that may be generated by the display of the artwork at the annex. RRAAC will also be responsible for getting the artists to display work and for the organization of the shows. It is their intent to change the displays quarterly.

The artwork must be appropriate for display in a public building and must approved by either the precinct one commissioner or the county judge prior to being displayed.

We are asking that the court approve the standard form and authorize the judge to sign them as needed so that the agreements do not have to be approved by the court for each new artist whose work is on display.
