Consider approving Change Order No. 7 in the amount of $23,344.00 for Hero Way, a Road Bond Project in Precinct Two.

Background

This Change Order provides payment for additional work by the Contractor to lime treat the subgrade for the asphalt pavement at the proposed CR 269 and Hero Way intersection. The area has been excavated to the subgrade and it has become necessary to lime treat this material as was done on the rest of the project under the concrete pavement. This area has poor drainage and the subgrade material alone will not be sufficient in supporting the asphalt pavement structure that is specified. Lime treating the area it should reduce any future maintenance issues with the asphalt pavement in the intersection area. This Change Order also adds four (4) months of Barricades, Signs and Traffic Handling to the Contract quantities to account for a portion of the project construction duration when utilities were not clear and the Contractor was working under a Limited and Conditional Notice to Proceed.
