Consider awarding contract to Baker Aicklen for LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR WILLIAMSON COUNTY BYERS TRACT PARK RFQ NUMBER: 11WCRFQ1002. The not-to-exceed cost for this project is $65,000.

Background

It is important to prepare a conceptual master plan of the Byers Tract to help determine needs to aid future development and planning. To that end, an RFQ was advertized through the purchasing department for landscape architectural services to prepare such a plan. The evaluation team of Jim Rodgers, Randy Bell and Jonathon Harris reviewed the fourteen responses to the RFQ for the concept plan for the Byers Tract conceptual plan park site – RFQ number 11WCRFQ 1002 formally advertized as LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR WILLIAMSON COUNTY BYERS TRACT PARK
The same team plus Rick Atkins, Round Rock Parks and Recreation director, and Mike Hemker Hutto, Parks and Recreation director followed up by conducting interviews with the top four scoring firms. All of the firms presented well, but the team unanimously recommended award of the contract to the firm of Baker Aicklen. They meet all requirements of the RFQ including history, references and technical considerations, and we have seen examples of their work with the Brushy Creek Regional Trail, Berry Springs Park & Preserve, and the Williams Tract Conceptual master plan. They also have a very good completion record. The references given had nothing but praise for their work. The accompanying contract for these services is in the NTE amount of $65,000.
