Consider approving Change Order #1 for the Quarry Splash Pad in the amount of $28,015.70.

Background

The Quarry Splash Pad is located in an old quarry within the Southwest Regional Park. After testing and boreholes the original restroom /equipment building design called for 18 foot piers into bedrock. Two holes were drilled successfully but subsequent ones hit only loose rock at a depth of 30 feet. After study by the structural engineer the restroom foundation design was changed to large beams to stabilize the building slab and the building footprint was moved to the West finding better conditions. Change order # 1 reflects the cost to change the building design in mid construction.
