Discuss and take appropriate action on distribution of funds for the Hutto Education Foundation.

Background

With reference to Landfill Contract Article III, Sec.3.5, D, host fee for City of Hutto and Hutto ISD; it is my recommendation to use the Hutto Education Foundation as a conduit in distribution of funds allocated by the Commissioner’s Court to the Hutto ISD. We will have an agreement with the Foundation that 25% of the annual distribution shall be placed into an endowment scholarship fund.

Through December 2009 this fund has a balance of $49,667.14

This year’s recommendation is as follows:

$20,000 to seed the Endowment fund

$19,360 for software for all Hutto ISD teachers (see attachment)

$2,500 for administrative expense

$3,140 for other request from ISD to be administered by the Foundation

$45,000 Total

Leaves a balance in the County’s ISD fund of $4667.14
