Discuss and take appropriate action regarding appointing Dan Doss to the Williamson County Historical Commission for a term beginning immediately and expiring on December 31, 2014.

Background

Agenda Item requested by P.J. Stevens who is recommending Dan Doss for appointment to the Williamson County Historical Commission:

Dan Doss was recommended by Commissioner Morrison. According to our by-laws, new members are appointed in January of odd numbered years for a two year term. Although we are a few months beyond January, these two have been under consideration since that time. Therefore, if appointed officially by you they would serve through the end of December 2014.

I and the rest of the commission are pleased to have these two on board with us and look forward to their help and support. Therefore, I am requesting that you include on the very next available Commissioner’s Court agenda the appointment of these two individuals for a term beginning immediately and expiring on December 31, 2014. Dan Doss Biography
My name is Dan Doss. I was born in Taylor and have lived here all my life. I graduated from Taylor High School. I attended UT for 2 years, majoring in engineering.
In 1986, I got a job working on an old house in Georgetown that was built in 1879.For me this began an interest in old house renovation and preservation. Since then I have worked on many old houses in Georgetown, Taylor, and Hutto.
I have also come to know many people who share this same interest.
Since I'm getting older and my kids are grown, I can devote some time to saving our county's history. Therefore I'd like to join the Williamson County Historical Commission.
