Consider approving Change Order No. 20 in the amount of -$78,475.90 for US 79 Section 3, a Pass-Through Financing project in Precinct Four.

Background

This Change Order provides for balancing the overrun / underrun Contract quantities for the project as a result of addressing field conditions not accounted for in the original plan quantities. Also added are new Contract Items for an additional mowing cycle; railroad crossing striping; price adjustments for various types of asphalt; delays costs and liquidated damages. This Change Order is a cost savings in the amount of -$78,475.90 and does not add any days to the Contract time.

Change Order No. 20 is the final Change Order for the three US 79 Pass Through Projects. For the total corridor, the original construction contracts totaled $48,508,294.44. As a result of cost savings measures discovered during construction and addressing final field conditions, the County has saved $412,146.72 (almost 1%), for a total corridor construction cost of $48,144,286.94 over the three projects.
